I’ve been accused of being a Scrooge on more than one occasion but tonight I’m embracing the Christmas spirit and thanking my family, Woody Guthrie and the state of California oddly enough. What’s the connection?

Well the first tip of my hat goes to my old man for knowing his wine and sharing the wealth with a stellar 2001 pinot from Sanford Vineyards. I pity you merlot drinkers.

The next thanks goes out to my brother, Brian, for being foolish enough to loan me his Santa Cruz H13. (You’ll have to pry it out of my cold dead hands).

And lastly an overwhelming thanks to Woody Guthrie for being the champion of all the dust bowl children who suffered and died young so I could enjoy the fruits of California.
